The Morning After

It was a fairly dreary morning. Or at least it might have been morning. Roger was still adrift on that ephemeral ocean we all cross from sleeping to waking and back again each night, and you never were quite sure when you made it to the other side until you looked back.

That morning was a saturday in any case, so it didn’t matter. Or… well, it might have been saturday.

It had to be, Roger told himself. After all, when the work week ended was when things always got intense. Knowing neither of them had anything to be up to in the morning - well, he rarely ever did at any rate - meant there was no time limit. They could just spend the whole evening together. They could do anything.

Sarah usually tended to have a good idea of what they were going to do long before friday evening came, of course. She loved reminding him how she would plan things out in her head, getting creative. She loved seeing the effect that kind of talk had on him.

Whenever she walked in after work on a friday evening though it wasn’t to any trepidation or fanfare. The sound of the key in the lock didn’t cause a flinch or a racing heart. It was instead an arrival to a smile, a cuddle, a kiss, and taking her coat.

She never rushed things.

They’d talk, they’d eat, they’d listen to something for a while. Maybe a movie. Only when they were both relaxed would she pounce.

“You know, I’ve been looking forward to tonight. I always do.”

He’d just nodded and kissed her, as her hand clutched his chin.

“I’ve got something fun in store for you, sweet thing.”

Unable to keep a giddy smile off his face, she began to explain some of her ideas for the evening. Not everything, of course. There were plenty of things she was free to do without asking. He could always have asked her to stop, yet rarely felt a need to. Lots of fun surprises.

Sometimes she would go into excruciating detail. Tell him every single thing she had been thinking about, every single thing she wanted to do to him. All the while her hands would just begin to… wander. Sarah couldn’t help it. The way he would squirm the longer she went on was just adorable.

Other times she was content to simply leave him guessing. A hint or two. Sometimes not even that. Just calmly and sweetly informing him of what he was to do. She loved that. Able to command him, body and soul, with just a few words. Not out of fear, but sheer loving devotion. He’d do anything for her. She knew the responsibility that carried. When he was nervous like that, but so obedient regardless, that was when she knew just how much she meant to him. It was sometimes too much. She’d just have to scoop him into her arms then and there and remind him just how loved he was. Occasionally it meant breaking character a little, but he didn’t care in the slightest.

Usually she was able to save that until after, though. She had other ways to remind her good boy how special he was to her after all. Many, many ways, as they had discovered.

Blushing furiously as memories of the night before flitted through his mind, before being subsumed by those which came after, Roger could only grin.

In any case, that had been last night. Friday night. That made this saturday morning. Now instead of an evening, they had the whole day to themselves. He beamed at the ceiling, so much so his cheeks hurt. A whole day with someone he would happily spend his whole life with.

“Morning.” She said softly, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“Hey.” He rolled to one side slightly to see her staring at him.

“You’re awfully happy this morning. You were smiling in your sleep.”

“I’ve got a good reason to be.”

“Just one reason?”

“More than one. That’s a very good one though”

She kissed him lazily.

“Thought so.”

She gently ran her fingers though his hair for a while, both of them just enjoying the time and closeness.

“Hungry yet?”

He murmured something not quite language in response, crooning into her touch.

“Use your words.” She giggled.

“Yeah.”

“Would my good boy like me to make him something?”

“Mmhmm…” he mumbled dreamily.

She placed a single finger under his chin, tilting his face up to hers as she casually smiled down at his beatific expression.

“Hmmm?”

“Yes, Mistress.”

She kissed his nose.

“Such a good boy.”

He blushed. Those words always made him blush.

“Although I do love watching you make breakfast…” She tapped her chin, pretending to think. Roger rested his head against her other hand, contently. “You’re so cute when you’re working.”

For a moment she seemed lost in thought.

“Not as cute as when you’re on your knees, of course. When you’re serving me…”

She grinned down at him, evidently having enjoyed their night too.

“Do you want to make breakfast this morning?” She asked at last, holding his cheek.

“That might be hard for me to do.”

“Oh? Why’s that?” She asked, stroking his hair.

He just jiggled his wrists in response, and the soft bindings around them became obvious, mostly hidden beneath his pillow.

“Who said you needed to use your hands? Maybe I want to watch you struggle.” She whispered, kissing his neck softly and making his whole body squirm.

Eventually she relented and tapped his nose affectionately.

“I forgot you were tied up.” She admitted, giggling softly.

“It’s okay.” He murmured, nuzzling into her side.

“Guess I’ll just have to feed you, too.” She wrapped a finger through the collar around his neck and tugged him closer for a kiss. “Don’t go anywhere.”

*****

“Sugar?” He asked, stirring.

“Yeah, I’m a bit tired still.”

Roger whistled something indistinct as he gently poured a spoonful of sugar into the still swirling mocha depths beneath, using a finger to stop it spilling onto the counter.

“You’re not making a mess are you?”

“Nope.” He announced, walking back through with her cup.

“Shame…” Sarah mused, but didn’t elaborate.

He placed her coffee on the table and she tugged his collar down for a quick kiss that left him While he was in the kitchen, Sarah had swung her legs up to lay on the sofa. However, when he went to sit on the recliner, she held a foot out to bar his progress.

“Uh uh.” She admonished, and lifted her legs up to her chest even as she was sipping her freshly delivered coffee.

Roger gave a sheepish grin, sitting down in the spot he’d been before, only for Sarah to gently drape her legs across his lap.

“Much better.” She noted, grinning into her cup.

“Want to watch something?”

“You squirming.”

“You know what I mean.” He blushed.

“Oh on TV? I’d watch you squirming there if you’d ever let me record it.”

He made a grab for the remote control and she swiftly went for his wrist, a practiced move on her part, while pressing down atop his lap with her legs to pin him in place. The pair struggled for a few moments, and she giggled at his efforts as she held it just out of his reach, kissing his lips and pressing his back to the sofa.

“Nice try, but I already have something in mind.”

He laid back, resigned, and raised his eyebrows in a silent question.

“We’ve got the whole day to ourselves, so let’s do something that takes a day to do.”

She pressed play, eyes on him, and stroked his shoulder.

“The world is changed… I feel it in the water…”

Beaming, he kissed her hand as she affectionately petted the hair on the back of his neck. It had been far too long since they’d watched Lord of the Rings. Crooning into her touch, she guided him to her side and cuddled him close, reaching down to pull a blanket over them both.

“Although these are quite long films, and I want to cuddle you all day today, so I might need some way to make sure my sweet little kitten doesn’t wander off…”

Nuzzling into her shoulder, he met her eyes and nodded. She rubbed the tip of her nose to his as she pulled out a plastic box from under the spare blankets.

“Up.” She said sweetly.

He obediently held his clasped hands before her as she drew a soft tie around them, eyes on him all the while. She didn’t even need to say anything, she could have just held her hand out and he would have complied, or even just taken his hands in hers if she wanted to. There was enough trust between them that she could take quite a few liberties with her pet. Sarah enjoyed watching him obey her words, though.

“Such a good boy…”

Petting his head with her free hand she tested the bonds, ensuring she could fit a finger inside. She hardly needed to, the tie was so soft as to be hardly more than symbolic, but it was more than just a habit by now. There was ritual to it. The sensation of her checking now and then was reassuring. The act of testing his bonds, ensuring he couldn’t escape, was itself comforting.

“Now,” she paused, staring him in the eyes, “how can I make sure you don’t talk during the movie?”

She held a gag in her fingers like a crystal ball, observing within as if seeing the future, drinking in his momentary anxiety.

“You’re too easy.” She giggled, kissing his flushed cheeks.

“You’d never gag me for… what is it, twelve hours?”

“I might just to keep you quiet.” She pursed her lips slightly, bemused.

“You’d go crazy without hearing my dulcet tones.” He mused, and leaned closer to kiss her.

“Hah!” She announced shortly after their lips parted. “The opposite I think.”

“I think you’d miss my mouth sooner than I would.”

“Oh really?”

“Mhmm.”

“Maybe I’ll pause the movie now and put those lips to better use.” She spoke in that gentle but firm tone she reserved only for when she wanted to make him melt under her touch, gently tickling under his chin.

Oh Mistress…” Roger fawned overly-dramatically, with a hand to his forehead as he pretended to faint back against her.

“Behave.” She tapped his nose affectionately, cuddling him closer. For a while she just held him like that. He rested his head against Sarah and sighed. Nothing could compete with the contentment he felt in her arms. Never safer, never calmer than in her embrace.

“Comfy?”

He just nodded, as she ran her fingers through his hair in soothing strokes.

“Such a sweet thing.”

“You’re beautiful.”

She tilted his head up towards hers slightly, with a finger under his chin, reading his expression through lidded eyes.

“Am I now?”

He just nodded again.

“You’re lucky these films are so long,” she whispered, “because when they’re done you’re all mine.”

He giggled in anticipation as they watched half a day's worth of fantasy epic unfold together, her arm draped across him possessively.
